Penkhull Festival 2021

16th - 19th September

We were all disappointed last September when Penkhull Festival had to be postponed. We missed seeing and hearing fantastic music and art, but equally significantly, we missed seeing each other and enjoying the social aspect of the festival.

Fortunately, all the artists we had booked for 2020 were able to be rebooked for 2021, and, while things are still by no means certain, I very much hope that the festival will be able to go ahead as (near to) normal this coming September.

This September, we welcome renowned pianist Simon Callaghan, the effervescent Equinox Saxophone Ensemble, and the fabulous National Youth Choir of Great Britain, directed by choral conductor Greg Hallam. Local primary school pupils will once again enjoy our singing workshop, led this year by choral expert Julia Whitbread. Trent Art will curate our Festival Art Exhibition, and there will be an exhibition of artwork by local art students. Talented musicians from Newcastle-under-Lyme School will present their ever-popular lunch time recital, where the annual May Walley Award will be presented.

In the meantime, I would like to encourage you to consider joining our growing Friends, Patrons and Benefactors Scheme. Please find details here on the website. And please do follow us on FaceBook and Twitter! If you would like us to do our bit for the environment, please help us to go paper-free by signing up to our e-Newsletter, if you've not already done so.

With best wishes,

Chris Brammeld
